Nov 1 2017 Blog Topic

Winter is coming! It's already November! Oh no;)

Here is the topic for this week. It's about exercise. Exercise is something that is hard to get in the winter and many people feel less motivated. Canada has a problem with too many obese children. What can we do about it?

1) Is it important to students/children to be physically active?

2) Do you think physical education class is more important or equally as important as some other subjects? Which ones? No? Why?

3) Does exercising or just taking a walk help you to study better?

4) How much TV or internet do you watch each day?

5) Which is more important, physical health or high academic achievement (good grades)?

6) How many hours of physical activity each day do students in your country get? Is it enough? How many hours do you think they should get?

7) Do you exercise? Are you more motivated to exercise in the warm or cold weather? Why?

8) Should governments require people to exercise in order to qualify (get) health insurance?

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS THE TOPIC FOR WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18/2017

Please watch the video below:

Here are the questions for you to consider. Please read them and make sure you can understand the questions:

What would you do if you found a wallet on the ground? Would you return it?

What if it had the owner's identification in it?

What if the wallet had $5,000 in it? Now, what if you'd just lost your job and you needed it to pay rent and buy food? Now, what if you had a child?

What do you think is the right thing to do? Would you even be tempted to take the wallet?

What do people usually do in your home country when they find something that does not belong to them? How is that different from other countries you have visited?

Do people in your home country respect others' belongings?

What kind of social experiment would you like to try? (This video is an example of a social experiment.)
